Computers Video Card issue!

Q: Things have been just fine for months..using XP, Vvidia GeForce 8600 GT..suddenly games are crashing, blue screen,,,computer reboots itself and I have this Error 0XC000000d, location 0x0045af13. Cannot made it happy again. have tried

-rebooting
-restoring to earlier date-unable to restore "version mismatch"
-upgrade was in the spring and tried to roll back to earlier one..same error 0X0 etc
-unable to upgrade to beta coming out as it is not compatible with XP
-I haven't got a lot of hair left, I'm not doing hair tearing...but this is pretty frustrating. I'm afraid my card is suddenly toast and Ican't seem to fix it.

any suggestions?
 

A: I had the exact same card and the blue screens started after a windows update. I read in nvidia forums that many people were having similar problems. I solved my problem by completely uninstalling the drivers, then reinstalling from the original cd that came with the card & hiding the windows update after that.
